This session will discuss hand therapists and advocacy. Advocacy is so important for any profession. In healthcare, with so many changes and legislation that can impact our profession, it is important to be informed and do your part. The session will discuss how ASHT provides an avenue for hand therapists to be advocates for their profession. It will present/remind members of the value of the advocacy toolbox. The session will discuss guidelines for hand therapists regarding available tools, address how we all can be better advocates for our profession and address why advocacy is important and why strength lies in numbers. We are all proud to be skilled hand therapists and proud of the impact we make in patients' lives; this session will aim to inspire attendees to go above and a leader amongst your colleagues, do the extra work to fight for hand therapy and to be aware and proactive for our profession.
