Golfers Must Golf! Innovating Approaches to Treatment and Marketing
In a large percentage of therapy practices, therapists are faced with avid and weekend amateur golfers wanting to golf in spite of an upper extremity medical condition or injury. As the avid golfer is pretty insistent on continuing to play and being with their golfing friends, therapists quickly find golfers are serious about continuing to play. This session will focus on approaches to injury prevention (which is ideal following an off season from golf due to weather) and approaches to keep patients in the game, while recovering from a medical condition or injury. The fundamentals of golf will be briefly addressed, followed by approaches for injury prevention (which can serve as a valuable marketing to niche markets such as golf clubs, golf pros, referral sources - physicians, PAs, nurse practitioners, etc.). The session will conclude with case examples of patients returning to play following an injury or surgery.
