The Medial Elbow and Ulnar Nerve: Can't Fix One Without the Other

Date/Time: Fri, October 2, 2020 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM

Description:

UN issues are obvious, but can we start to look higher up the chain to effectively address this? The position of the arm, carrying angle and olecranon position will all contribute to diminished function on this neural pathway. If we want to effectively treat ulna sided wrist pain, TFCC, UN compressions and weakness, this is where we must assess closer. This is an intermediate to advanced concepts class that will look closely at anatomy of the elbow from a position of muscle imbalance, neural length and the effect of this on the hand and shoulder. Video demonstration, lecture and lab will be used to show how you can quickly change pain, ROM and influence sensation - motor and sensory.

Objective(s):

  • Learner will understand sites on compression on the Ulna see of the arm

  • Learner will leave with a knolwedge of the "MDT" muscle to effectively assess which muscle are underfunctioning

  • Learner will learn several basic taping concepts to help with elbow alignement and positioning
