Peter Weiss, MD

Dr. Weiss is the R. Scot Sellers Scholar of Hand Surgery, Chief of Hand Surgery, Vice Chair and Professor of Orthopaedics at Brown University. He also served as the Dean of Admissions for the medical school. He is a graduate of the combined B.A.-M.D. Program at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, orthopaedic surgery residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and hand surgery fellowship at the Indiana Hand Center. Dr. Weiss has lectured nationally and Internationally over 370 times. He is the recipient of the AOA- NATF, AOA- ABC and the ASSH Bunnell Traveling Fellowships, maintains R0-1 grant funding from the NIH, and is recipient of the Weiland Medal from the ASSH. He is Editor Emeritus of the Journal of Hand Surgery and the author of over 195 peer-reviewed publications. He is Managing Editor of the 2 Volume ASSH Textbook of Hand & Upper Extremity Surgery. He holds 15 patents for orthopedic devices used worldwide and has served on numerous company Board of Directors.
