Virginia O'Brien, CHT, OTD
Virginia’s passion is to inform the greater community of hand therapists in the evidence-informed practice of upper extremity rehabilitation. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Occupational Therapy Program and received her OT doctorate Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. Her interest in hand architecture began during her fieldwork days. She is actively involved in clinical and biomechanical research of the thumb and the wrist, is an active member of AOTA’s Evidence Exchange committee, ASHT’s Research Committee, is a published author in the Journal of Hand Therapy (JHT), and Hand, the journal of the American Association for Hand Surgery. She is also a reviewer for JHT and Journal of Hand Surgery. She works full time as a clinician and is the Hand Therapy Fellowship Clinical Coordinator at M (Minnesota) Heath Fairview Hand Therapy, Minneapolis, MN, USA. Since 2005 she has presented on a variety of hand related topics to therapists and physicians nationally and internationally.
